What I've Done?

Am at that phase where I only get about 4hrs of bed rest. Am not complaining about it, am already used to the patter by now but it means I get so little time to update my posts let alone catch up with what every one is up to.

A recent survey I took on face book says my stress level is @ 97% despite trying it several more times, I could not get the number lower. It went on further to say I should manage my time bulungi...Only if whoever made that quiz could take up my shoes.

Like the say such things do not last for long, Am rushing up with stuff such that I can enjoy later on. At least that's my plan. Everything seams set for me and I have no deadlines as yet.

The Eve story should come up on my next post, which will be this weekend. For the moment am off to think out ways of maximising and managing my time well.

For All The Single Ladies

I've had the block for a while now and much to my dislike, it seams am getting used to it hanging around me like some shadow.

Today I had to share this picture I got from face-book, I did not only laugh but agree with the message.

Another One of those days..

Alas it rained on me. Good lord it rained on me and the rain washed away all my former cheer.

I had a beautiful night on Tuesday witnessing McCain being kicked in the balls and Obama becoming the first US black president. This was sweet, sweeter than the lemon crunch cake I've become so fond of. That night was full of crazy happyness and sunshine beamed to the safety of T.V set. Had I been out celebrating with the masses, I might have even lost my virginity just to make a "white-black " baby on this historical moment.

The next day would find me away from home. No, I was not going to join the non-stop parting of the democrats, but rather participate in some user experience survey for an upcoming gift website. For those of you who are tired of sheep being thrown at or receiving a Mojito(it's not a gay drink) without actually feeling it go down your throat on face book, this is exciting news. The site/app actually allows you to buy and send your friends real gifts which they can redeem on their cards(credit/debit) and spend at any bar or restaurant. Cool those who've run away from face book can jump back in to enjoy such services. It's still in it's beta stage but should be rather useful.

As usual, I got lost(someone please donate a GPS navigation system) and was with some incident because out of the blue it started drizzling and I half walked-run in the rain to get the survey place. It was still raining after my session and I had to get back home quickly. After all, what harm can a little rain do to me? Some ka woman I met selling umbrella's wanted me to take one at 10bucks ≈ 20K, I told her off with words that would make my blog censored when she tried to "force" me to buy. By the way It was a normal ordinary umbrella and I was not that desperate.

That "small" rain must have done some kinda damage because I virtually slept the whole night and whole day. I only got out of bed a few hours ago with a slight headache and the muscle "fire" still in my legs. Maybe am just unfit or weak but I've not felt this crappy since I greedily enjoyed direct-from-tank beer smuggled/stolen from the "cold room" at Uganda Breweries in Port Bell, Kampala(another story).

Hopefully this Friday, things can get back to normal. I'll steal an umbrella and get a long rest over the weekend.

You've been Phished....

Have you ever received a bulletin or comment from your friend that you know they did not really send to you? It's probably because they got "phished" and a spammer is using their account to spam you! You may have been phished yourself and seen messages, comments or bulletins sent from your social network account (Face-book, MySpace, Hi5 e.t.c).

What is it?
Phishing is the luring of an internet user to reveal personal details (like email, passwords and credit card information) on a fake web page or email form pretending to come from a legitimate company or source. (Word Web)

Why?
It is not a "security" flaw, and you're not getting "hacked." You've probably been warned before about phishing websites, but most people don't think or worry about phishing when using their social net work account (I’ll use face-book onwards). You may wonder why anyone would even want to get your Face-book password. On Face-book, phishers obviously aren't after your money, but they are still trying to make money! They achieve this by logging into your account and using your account to spam your friends. They make money from the advertisements they spam. (Spam works better when it comes from a real account you know, because your friends are likely to pay attention to it!)

Prevention
It's entirely preventable by you, if you know what to look for. To make sure you don't get phished, you have to understand exactly how it works.

Here's the basic idea: It starts with the person trying to phish you making a web page that looks just like the log in page of the website (Face-book) you're trying to use. Then the phisher comes up with a creative way to get you to click on the link to that page (maybe by sending you a message or comment saying you should check something out). When you see the link and click it, you are presented with the fake log in page created by the phisher. If you enter your info, you've been "phished" - you've fallen for the trick, and they've captured your email and password! The phisher will then start logging in as you until you change your password and lock them out.

Now you may think you know exactly what the Face-book log in page looks like and that someone could not trick you into typing your info into a fake page, but it is very easy to fall for this! It's also very easy for anyone to make an exact copy of the Face-book log in page, or the log in page of any website you use. There is only one easy way to know that you are at the real log in page. That's by looking at your browser's address bar--the place you view or type in the URL of the website you want to visit. There will you know what website you are actually on at the moment. For Face-book, the only page you should log in to is “www.facebook.com" - with no extra characters before or after it. note for the new face-book, it's "www.new.facebook.com" Face-book is yet to do something about it!

If you are ever clicking around Face-book and you are asked to log in, don't do it! STOP and check the address in the URL to be sure it’s not some fake site designed to steal your log in credentials.

Use the latest version of Internet explorer which automatic checks all websites and has phishing protection. It will check to see if the site you are visiting is a phishing website and warn you.

Finally changing your password occasional will block out unauthorized users frequently until they give up eventually.
