Photography

Recently, I was enjoying the April Issue of National geographic and was impressed with the stories and the photographs Illustrated.

So captivated was I that I've taken a liking to searching for and enjoying more of such photos. I was lucky enough and one of my friends who happens to have a serous camera and eye for nature shared with me this link

Here is a link to some of his collection. If you love photography and hope to onetime pursue freelance photojournalism, this could be a place to start

Which other photo sources can you share?

What's your current passion?

The Tenth One!!

At last am on my 10th post, I know some of you probably have thousands of posts but am really excited to be writing down my 10th because, honestly I did not expect to reach this far. A huge thank you to blogger Miss Cheri aka Miss Chantal Who has been an Inspiration and encouragement till this point and I dedicate this post to her. Thanks also to all those who have taken time to read my writings.

Unfortunately I've been kinda super busy and even missed watching the last episode of Smallville and as such could not write any thing about it but that should come up in the following post. It's 5am and I took a break off quadratic equations and geometry to quickly put something on my blog. I was thinking about it for a while and so far, this is what I've learnt since my re genesis of blogging

  1. Blogging is fun and educative. Since beginning blogging, am compelled to write better English and proper ways of connecting words and sentences. I must add it's a great boost to writing, analytical skills and encourages coherent behaviour.
  2. Blogging is addictive. before starting to blog, one should be told it is attached with a warning, Caution: May be addictive and harmful to individuals. Since starting, I find myself always thinking of what I'll put next as my next post and how should I write it down. It's to such a point that everything am doing is a potential story for my blog and if you love writing, it's the way to follow. Am yet to discover/know the harmful bits involved but one I've heard about is connected with law.
  3. Blogging also means reading other people's blogs. This, I only discovered after about my third post. It's no great use writing if you can not take time to read what other people have on their own blogs, in this way, you could see what style they use and how they put their opinions forward. Additionally, the posts are also great reading and satisfactory, there fore you are also considered a blogger if you read blogs.
  4. Blogs, being in an internet environment, can be an excellent way of sharing knowledge and opinion freely with friends and professionals allover the world. This creates new connections and some kind of unity, What some would call a Blogosphere.
  5. Blogging is Illegal. Okay this bit is not very true in all areas of the world except in some Asian countries and work places. I've heard of people who have been discontinued from work or arrested by their government for engaging in blogging activities so it's wise to find what extent it's acceptable before venturing any further into blogging.
  6. Blogging is also a great way of spending free time. When you have a lot of time on your hand, it's always advisable to utilize this time for a good cause and what better cause than blogging to express and share your opinions.

Also some questions that have come up since my initiation into blogging and any answers are welcome to some or all of them. They are:-
  1. How far is going far in blogging? (i.e which elements are unacceptable in some posts)
  2. Is it fine to steal another blogger idea/post?
  3. Do you have to make the posts very lengthy/long?
  4. How often should you update your blog? (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly?)
  5. The Do's and Do not's of blogging?
  6. Can You actually make some money out of blogging?
  7. How do I promote my blog?

With that said, after my 10th post, blogger correspondence is opened and you are all welcome to write to my email add with disses, praise and suggestions. The email add is orelza@yahoo.co.uk

Since I still have some weight on my back, the next post will probably be around Thursday when I've shed off most of that weight.

Thanks

The second arrival.

Becoming an enthusiastic blogger is proving to be more difficult than I had imagined. I had thought that it was going to be an easy thing this time round but am already getting blogger's block(if that word exists) and It's only my second post. Either it's because my life at the moment is not that exciting or am somehow failing to appreciate and accept the small bits that are actually important. What do you think is important to you?

However, after a quick search with my friend Google for help, I found about 8 million hits which would all rather be helpful for the new blogger or the wanna be blogger. There is a lot of information out there for blogger's but I would highly recommend wiki's How to start a blog for newbies simplified to only 8 simple steps. It is from here that I made the decision to make this a free-lance blog project centered around me and for crying out loud, it's even called Emi's Works -how ironic. I now understand Albert Einstein when he once said "making things simple yet not simpler".

So here goes a wrap up of events since my last post.

Thursday was not as expected. There is nothing much to write about this day typically because I spent most of it in bed. It must have been the exhaustion(slept late reading) or one of those days you get an attack by some laziness and do not want to do anything, what ever the reason I had nothing to look forward to for the day and therefore did not make any loss that day. The only exciting thing for the day was the season premier of Smallville and Supernatural on CW11 -Two of my personal top shows on T.V and oh my!! They did start with a bang.

Spoiler: To all Lex's fan's, Don't you just love him also? it's sad to note that Lex(Micheal Rosenbaum); The best "bad guy" so far and Clark's arch enemy will not future much in season 8 as reported by the show's producers. Hopefully, this does not kill my love for the show because he brought such a unique mixture of charm, power, meanness and menace that made Smallville very enjoyable to watch and thus he was my favorite character.
Here is the best season 8 trailer I found

There is promise for more villains like Doomsday, Maxima and Tess Mercer(Lex's replacement). but am yet to see if they can measure up to Rosenbaum performance. looking forward to the second episode next Thursday.

I can not write much about Supernatural. I missed several of the last episodes of season 3 but the new season has more intensity and intrigue. Am catching up on season 3 when I can afford the DVD and will update accordingly. One thing is obvious though, Sam and Dean certainly have new powers and am not missing any episode this time round. How did season 3 actually wrap up? any one know?

As for Friday the beginning of weekend, I completely have nothing to write about. I know it should be with most activity and fun filled but let's face it, considering my unemployment status and brokenness, it's just another day to let pass. Sure NY has lots of places to "happen" at virtually no cost but am yet to discover and tame the volatile "apple's culture" before venturing out.

Back home in Uganda, I recall a Friday would be much sought after and longed for since that always meant unwinding and relaxing with the boys after a hard day's work. Game after game of pool was in-order with 1759's or some cocktail usually based around Ug. I'll be mentioning the venues in up coming posts in comparison with what I find here, but for the moment, am glad I've finally put something down for my second post.

And "Cut" That's a wrap till another time, Enjoy the weekend.

Re-Genesis

Hello and thanks for reading my blog. Today marks my re-entry into the blogger-world and am more excited about it than before because of a renewed passion and desire to put more effort and seriousness into sharing my world. Apparently my new inspiration is from this Blog and a couple of others I stumbled upon while casually surfing the net on one of my "free breaks". Reading some of the posts reminded me of those days that I once tried starting sharing my daily opinions via blogging. That must have been like a century ago -OK in reality, it was around 2001 but this was terminated before it could fully kickoff and I only blame the unreliable and difficult access of the Internet during that time all because of President Museveni. He............am not going there -Am trying to to keep my new blog non-political.

Come 2004-05 the flame rekindled largely because of the blog fever that had suddenly attacked Uganda and become so infectious. Do you also remember this period? Some of you might have picked up around this time frame. I believe I was the worst hit because I had up to 3 blogs all anonymous with weekly updates. By around July 2006 the 'gas' was no longer there; partly it could have been due to my small reading audience or my lack of new ideas to share but I'll refrain from further mentioning others. Why? because a lot of forces beyond my control where in play then.

It's a shame I do not remember most of my discussions then but some that spring into mind are; the thoughts on relationships (don't We all love that topic) , idle discussions about life and how to make some quick shs. It's sad that I can not be able to trace all the old blogs, they could have been deleted or faced the wrath of whatever happens to forgotten web-blogs. So I can not truly tell my 'blogging scale'

Enough about the past. Like someone once said, "we must not dwell too much on the past but look forward towards the future." Am looking forward to updating my blog regularly and sharing with my readers the various .................. that come my way. Am not exactly sure of what I'll be writing about but my head is filled with numerous different ideas, Thus much needed and appreciated help from 'Probloggers' and reader's comments is required for this first post and the subsequent ones on which paths not to take.

Please do leave a comment/view

Cheers!!!
